Product Description

Copper-gold powder (also known as gold powder) is made of copper-zinc alloy as raw material, and is made through special mechanical processing and surface chemical treatment. It has a flaky structure, can float in the binder, presents a golden luster, and has the properties of a pigment. Due to its brilliant metallic luster, gravure printing has the effect of setting off the main body and attracting attention. It has been widely used in plastics, high-end pictorials, high-end packaging, cigarette shells, securities printing, etc. Therefore, higher requirements are put forward for the main technical indicators of copper-gold powder, such as gloss, metallic feel, water surface coverage, product particle size and distribution. The copper-gold powder produced by traditional technology can no longer meet modern requirements. Therefore, in-depth research and development of copper-gold powder has important practical significance.

200 mesh copper gold powder: flying gold, fabric gold printing, suitable for fast printing. Features: high brightness, strong metallic feel

400 mesh copper gold powder: gold flying, gold paint, gold printing on fabrics, also suitable for screen printing, wallpaper, coatings and incorporation into plastics. Features: high glossiness, strong metallic feel.

600 mesh copper gold powder: flying gold, gold paint, fabric gold printing, screen printing, handicraft coating, etc. Features: high brightness, strong metallic feel.

800 mesh copper gold powder: used for fabric printing, spray paint, plastic, wallpaper "point tip" paint water-based and non-aqueous purposes.

1000 mesh copper gold powder: used to make high-brightness spray paint, wooden materials, silk screen ink and rubber embossed ink. Features: fine, high brightness.

1200 mesh copper gold powder: suitable for printing ink, paint, plastic, screen ink, etc. Features: high brightness.

1500 mesh copper-gold powder: better performance, high gloss, good stability, can be used to make canned offset printing ink.

Application areas:

Copper gold powder is mainly used in handicrafts, paints, inks, coatings, printing, silk screen, printing, leather, wallpaper, automotive paint and other industries

The commonly used method for determining high copper content in red light copper-gold powder is still the old iodine titration method, which requires a large amount of potassium iodide, is costly and time-consuming. The recently developed photometric method is not suitable for the determination of high copper content due to the problem of copper color developer, so it is necessary to study and develop new color developers. The author tried to use acetic acid-sodium acetate buffer solution to control the pH value and used disodium ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) as a color developer to determine the high copper content in copper-gold powder. At the same time, EDTA was used to mask zinc, aluminum and other elements to eliminate their interference. Cu^2+ and EDTA generate a blue complex with a molar ratio of 1:1. The maximum absorption wavelength of the complex is 2=730nm, and the molar absorption coefficient is ε=88.9. The copper ion content shows a good linear relationship in the range of 12-24mg/50mL, and the linear regression equation is A=0.0354+0.02317c

Gold powder printing process:

The gold and silver powders used in gold and silver powder printing are actually copper-zinc alloy and pure aluminum powder respectively. Gold powder is divided into light gold, medium gold and dark gold according to color. Silver powder contains 99.5% pure aluminum. Because aluminum powder is active and easily generates oxides on the surface, the lower explosion limit density of its powder in the air is 27-50g/cm3. It will release hydrogen when it reacts with water, affecting the stability of the color paste. Therefore, it is not as common as gold powder printing in practice. The following focuses on gold powder printing.

①Key points of gold powder printing process.

a. The commonly used gold powder fineness is between 200 and 1800 mesh. The finer the particles, the more reddish the light is, and the poorer the luster is; on the contrary, the coarser the particles, the more bluish the light is, the stronger the luster is, and the better the washing fastness is. Therefore, the mesh number should be selected appropriately, which is different from the general paint that the finer the better. It is usually controlled between 200 and 400 mesh.

b. Penetrants help improve brightness, with diffusants NNO and JFC being the most commonly used.

c. Antioxidants can slow down the oxidation rate of gold powder in the air and prevent the formation of an oxide film that causes darkening. Commonly used ones include metol (p-methylaminophenol sulfate) and benzotriazole. This agent is not added directly but adjusted into the emulsified paste.

②Gold powder printing process formula and process.

a.Formula:

Gold powder (400 mesh)

350g

Adhesive MR-96 400g

Special emulsified paste 250g

b. Process flow: printing gold powder → baking (160℃, 1.5 minutes) → resin rolling → baking (temperature and time are the same as before) → stentering → calendering → anti-shrinkage → inspection.

The purpose of the above calendering is to increase the gloss, reduce friction and prevent powder from falling off. In the case where the requirement for gold gloss is not high but the fastness requirement is high, the amount of gold powder can be replaced by gold paint, especially when used on black or dark brown, which is often called "flying gold".

③ Carving and arrangement of gold powder flower tubes.

The most prominent feature of the gold-printed flower tube carving is that it is about 0.02mm deeper than conventional printing, and is usually around 0.12mm. The flying surface is larger, which is conducive to the smooth flow of printing paste.

When using a carved flower tube for gold powder printing, it is divided into two steps and is usually placed in the last process. When using screen printing, a hot screen printing platen is more suitable, and generally the printing is skipped in odd or even numbers. When printing with other dyes, the specific arrangement should be made according to the pattern and dye properties. If it is overprinted with reducing dyes, it is better to print the gold powder first. It is better to use running cold water for oxidation, and never use acid or strong oxidants.
