On October 9, 2014, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine officially promulgated (Code for Seismic Design of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Buildings) as a national standard, numbered GB50981-2014, which will be enforced from August 1, 2015.

Design scope of seismic supports and hangers :
1) Application scope of seismic supports and hangers for piping systems such as hot and cold water, fire protection, and air conditioning:
All equipment in suspended pipes exceeding 1.8kN; all domestic water supply and fire protection pipe systems greater than or equal to DN65
2) Air conditioning and ventilation pipe seismic support and hanger application scope: all duct systems with a diameter greater than or equal to 0.7m; all rectangular ducts with a rectangular cross-sectional area greater than or equal to 0.38㎡
3) The scope of application of seismic supports and hangers for power system pipelines and cable tray systems: all electrical piping with an inner diameter greater than or equal to 60mm; all cable trays, cable ladders, and cable trays with a gravity greater than or equal to 150N/m.
